Baptismal Group
In our congregation, the size of the baptismal group varies with
each age-group: In some years there are more than ten youngsters, in
others only four. A rather sparsely populated rural region simply
cannot count on the same constancy as a metropolitan area.
Nevertheless, the Weierhof congregation considers it crucial to
impart everything (young) people need to know and experience in
order to establish their own cornerstone of faith. This dedication
on our behalf is not always rewarded with the youngster’s commitment
to our congregation and a solid Christian creed. Our Mennonite
belief, however, stands for the baptism of young adults instead of
children and it is very important to us that youngsters and young
adults are aware of their freedom of choice. If they eventually
choose life with God and His Holy Word out of their own free will,
we can be grateful for a rich and blessed harvest.
